I use my Creality Ender 5 Pro FDM 3D printer to prototype parts that I design for a multitude of projects. To the left is a 3D render of a wing I designed to hold a solar cell. This wing can be printed in a lightweight PLA, and hold a single, 5x5in solar cell on the top. It is part of a larger project, intended to build a solar powered fixed wing vehicle, capable of long duration flight.
Below is an Engineering Design project I worked on with a group. Our mission was to create a model micro-hydro generator that could be produced from recycled materials and run in small rivers while minimizing the environmental impact. I 3D printed all parts except the motor mounts and propeller. The model used batteries to run the motors and turn the propeller, the inverse of what a scale prototype would do.
