Turner Construction Company

I joined the Turner team at Wellesley College (WC) in July 2022 as a co-op. Working under a civil engineer, and site superintendent I gained experience in managing subcontractors, coordinating with owners, architects, and consultant engineers, and managing project funds.

Coming in to the (WC) five-year project in the tail end and joining the team that performs punch list and closeout was not what I had anticipated when I had decided to join one of the largest construction management firms in the United States. As I had previous leadership experience, Turner management had decided to place me in a self-start role, where my maturity and ambition would drive me to perform roles traditionally not performed by previous coops. When wearing my assistant superintendent hat, I earned my OSHA Construction 30-Hour, and oversaw safe work conditions for our many subcontractors. I oversaw landscaping, painting, mechanical systems start testing, electrical installation of light fixtures, power receptacles, and wiring of high voltage machinery. When wearing my assistant engineer hat, I checked on work being performed to ensure it matched the drawings. I updated drawings to reflect current conditions and approved the budget allocations for final and punch list work.
